Our Story
Soulo Tutorial Services was founded on a simple belief: every scholar deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in an environment where they feel seen, supported, and challenged.
Founded by Nekea Easterling, MPH, Soulo was created from a passion for education, service, and helping students discover confidence in themselves—not just confidence in academics. Through years of experience as a classroom teacher, Special Education educator, tutor, and mentor, Nekea has worked with learners from upper elementary through middle school, supporting students with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and goals.
Her academic journey—from Arizona State University, to earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Texas Southern University, and later a Master of Public Health from Lamar University—has shaped a teaching philosophy rooted in curiosity, lifelong learning, and service to others.
Beyond the classroom, Nekea designs and facilitates interdisciplinary project-based learning experiences for gifted scholars through the DeBusk Enrichment Center of Texas (DECATS), integrating mathematics with leadership, communication, financial literacy, creativity, branding, and authentic problem-solving. These experiences reflect the same philosophy she brings to every tutoring session: learning should be meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world.
At Soulo Tutorial Services, tutoring is about more than improving grades. It's about helping scholars build confidence, develop critical-thinking skills, and recognize their potential—one session at a time.

Soulo Tutorial Services is proudly founded and led by Nekea Easterling, MPH.
As a Certified EC–12 Special Education Teacher, mentor, and lifelong learner, Nekea brings together experiences from general education, special education, tutoring, youth leadership, and public health to provide individualized academic support for every scholar.
Her approach extends beyond traditional tutoring. By combining evidence-based instructional practices, interdisciplinary learning, restorative relationship-building, and personalized support, she creates learning experiences that help scholars grow academically while developing confidence, resilience, and critical-thinking skills.
